Pru is a Sex Worker of the Year 2006 Finalist
It gives me all kinds of pleasure to announce that I have made it to the finalists for the Erotic Awards Sex Worker of the Year 2006.
The Erotic Awards is run by a "Grand Jury" of Conspicuous Sensuality. They began as a small group of enthusiasts and idealists in 1993, whose purpose was to honour people who work in the world of sex and eroticism.
Their goal is to pluck excellence from the sometimes hard, soul-less commercial world of sex, and seek out lone artists and pioneers.
Additionally, the Erotic Awards raise funds for Outsiders, a unique members' club, that provides the backup for disabled people to make new friends and find sexual partners. Outsiders is engaged in many projects including the V-Group for disabled women with sexual problems, and the national Sex and Disability Help line.
In 2004, Outsiders celebrated its 25th anniversary, and this longevity is thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Erotic Awards. The Erotic Awards also encourages disabled people to participate as performers, volunteers and guests.
The Erotic Awards help to run the Sexual Freedom Conference in London where finalists from the past and present are given an opportunity to talk about their work. This year's conference will be called RIOTOUS PLEASURES - PRESERVING OUR SEXUAL FREEDOMS and it will take place this Saturday 6th May at the Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial Street, London E1.
The performance nominees will be featured in a live "Showcase" event on Wednesday 24th May at The Clapham Grand. Finalists of this category are then featured at the "Night of the Senses" Show on 2nd September. Other category finalists are also featured in an Exhibition at a special Ball (see www.nightofthesenses.com). This Exhibition is previewed in a London gallery during the month of August. It is also featured permanently on our website, with contact details.
The Erotic Awards are also planning a London Erotic Film Festival.
The Erotic Awards has 12 categories, including artist, fashion designer, filmmaker and campaigner, to writer and sex worker. Past finalists can be viewed at the Erotic Awards website.
